Evolution and Creation Science Lectures Coming to CSU Fresno Campus

FRESNO, CA – APRIL 3, 2008 – The public is invited to a FREE lecture series, featuring geologist, Dr. Don Patton, Ph.D. During this series Dr. Patton will challenge the thinking of evolutionists, atheists, agnostics, and many Christians as he presents scientific evidence from the fields of geology and archeology to affirmatively answer the question, "Does Planet Earth Reveal a Creator?" He states, “Creation science is scientific evidence, not religious dogma. Both creation and evolution have profound religious and philosophical implications, yet both may be investigated scientifically.”

Three different venues. The lectureship, sponsored by the Sun Garden Church of Christ in Fresno, CA, will begin with three lectures presented Sunday, April, 20th, in the church’s auditorium at 4563 E. Gettysburg Avenue. Dr. Patton will speak on the “Dead Sea Scrolls” at 9:30 a.m. At 10:30 a.m. the congregation will conduct their regular worship, including a presentation by Dr. Patton on the topic “Archeology & the New Testament.” At 6:00 p.m. he will speak on the “History of Israel from Her Stones.” Parking is free.

The series will then move to the CSU Fresno Satellite Student Union for evening lectures Monday and Tuesday, April 21st and 22nd, at 7:00 p.m. Topics presented will include “What is Creation Science?” on the Monday, and “Evolution and the Laws of Science” on Tuesday. Free parking will be available in lots J, O and P.

The final three nights of the lectureship, April 23rd - 25th, will be held at 7:00 p.m. each night in the Fig Garden Rotary Theater on the Bullard High School campus, 5445 N. Palm Avenue @ W. Browning. Lectures presented will be “Scientific Age of the Earth” on the 23rd, “The Record of the Rocks” on the 24th , and “The Record of the Fossils” on the 25th.

Free to the public, each session will consist of two 30-minute lecture periods, followed by 15-minute open Q & A sessions and an intermission. Topics will be presented in a multimedia format featuring examples from Dr. Patton’s geological and archeological investigations around the world. No collections will be taken during the Monday thru Friday lectures.

Guest speaker Dr. Don Patton, Ph.D., is a member of the Geological Society of America and has worked as a geologist around the world. Over the past 25 years he has been a popular speaker at colleges and universities throughout the nation, conducting numerous Creation Science & Evolution seminars and participating in many debates in lecture halls, on radio and television.

Currently Dr. Patton is a consulting geologist and partner in Mazada Corporation, a staff geologist for the Creation Evidence Museum, chairman of the Metroplex Institute of Origin Science, and an evangelist in Melrose, TX. Recently he served as area supervisor at the City of David excavation and staff geologist of the Qumran Plateau excavation.
